I have been a professional photographer for 20 years. I have done several kinds of photography during that time. However, one thing has remained consistent throughout my career. My focus is to have sincere, genuine interactions with those I photograph. Apart from the technical side of photography, I feel that a considerable part of my job is to quickly put everyone at ease and let the camera disappear during a shoot. When people are relaxed, they offer the best version of themselves. Fun facts about me: Loves people. Has lots of fun making new friends. Has three redheaded children. (identical twin sons and a daughter) Enjoys photographing genuine human emotion. Owned and operated two different successful portrait studios. Is a hobbyist sketch artist.

Everyone has value, and I treat them as such. I strive for authenticity and transparency in communication, which gives me and my customer clarity on how our photoshoot will proceed. I then provide a brief, but thorough posing tutorial and let them know I will be modeling poses, so all they need to do is follow me. Throughout the shoot, I'll show the back screen of my camera; people regularly see how great they look and gain confidence moment by moment. It doesn't take very long to settle into the groove.

Some of my favorite places to photograph are The John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge, Printers Alley, The Nashville Waterfront, Centennial Park, The gulch, and 12 south. However, I am always on the lookout for new and interesting natural backgrounds with environments that are good to interact with.
