Our photo packages consist of on-location photography, be it indoors or outdoors, or preferably a mix of both.
Our shoots consist of:
- Headshots, 3/4 body, and full-length compositions
- A wide variety of natural and relaxed poses; standing, sitting, leaning against a wall, etc.
- Two or three outfits only
- 60 minute or 90 minute sessions
We are looking to see how you can best portray your client to us. These should not be cookie-cutter photos. Each client has their own personality and we want this expressed through your thoughtful work. No photo session should look like the previous; variety is key. You should be able to shoot enough that you weed it down to the best 20 in each outfit to send to us. We handle the gallery process and you only provide us with your RAW (no editing) images. In the end, the client will receive top pictures from your shoot.
What makes you different than someone else? Why should we choose you?
Your website or images will be evaluated. We must see candid portraits of men and women between the ages of mid 20’s – late 60’s. Please only post your website URL if it showcases natural on-location portrait work. We don’t do studio work with backdrops and strobes, so we don’t care how good you are in that realm, nor are we interested in seeing other types of photography. We are looking for the best talent for our line of work. If that’s you, we need to talk.
A great candidate will have experience working with adults over the age of 40. Although it’s true many young photographers are very talented, we have noticed that more mature photographers get requested more often, and will help our clients feel more at ease during the shoot. Online dating photography requires new skills in “open body language” poses. We are trying to convey someone happy and interested in meeting new people. Understanding different body types and how to photograph them is a requirement. We should be able to see samples of posing of all types of people.
Have you been working with portrait clients (actual paying clients, not friends and family) for a few years? If so, we ask you to create a separate showcase gallery to upload to our site that reflects your portrait work only, so we can evaluate your talent and determine if you are a good fit for us. We are looking for photos that capture the person, not their environment. Product, travel or commercial photographers, need not apply unless you can demonstrate with real samples your skill photographing people as we’ve described. Headshot photographers need to be able to show us samples of 3/4 and full-length photos too.
We look for photographers who are flexible and creative, to render a mix of natural lifestyle image of our clients. Their images should be casual, relaxed, friendly and inviting, as those are qualities most highly valued in online dating photos. Body language when posing for online dating photos is very important in portraying our clients as open and approachable as possible, and ready to date. We need to see this in your work too. Stiff, formal, cheesy, stark and rigid are adjectives that if applied to your work will immediately disqualify you.
You should be comfortable and proficient with the equipment you use. We don’t care about the number of lenses you have, or the brand of equipment you use. We care about the quality of the images you produce. We prefer you use a portrait lens or at least make sure you use a shallow depth of field. Please stay away from the use of wide-angle with our portraits. There is also no need to set up fancy light stands to do our shoots. We try to keep the lighting as natural as possible, and comfortable for our clients. Use of a reflector or fill flash is fine. Seeing our clients eyes are very important for online dating. They express so much. We want you to shoot in RAW and you will be uploading to a WeTransfer account. You won’t need to do any editing to the images. We take care of that.
Most of our photographers also bring a changing tent to the shoot. Access to indoor privacy for wardrobe changes might be limited at the shooting location, and the clients are usually happy to use a changing tent instead of undressing in their car. Plus it cuts down on their changing time and leave more room for the photo shoot.

We bring customers to you. Our photographers can be flexible with their time, so you set your own schedule; full-time hours, weekly, or just weekends. You take the photos, select your best 20 in each outfit that would include headshots, 3/4 body and full length) then upload images to us. We take it from there. LookBetterOnline will handle all the upsell and you will reap the benefits. We pay weekly directly to your bank account. LookBetterOnline evaluates our photographers initially by the quality of the work they have done in the past. After that, your ability to consistently produce top images, commensurate with that of your submitted samples, your reliability, your interactions with customers, and your professional attitude, will all determine where you go from there. Also, we allow you to “keep” your clients. This is especially great for engagement and wedding photographers. Establish that trust with your client now so they will think of you when they need you for their “big day”. Plus if you do other types of photography, let your clients know. Drop the business card at the end of the shoot.
Our photographers come in all “sizes and shapes” but all have a single common denominator: their exemplary skill with a camera and their ability to work well with people from all walks of life. Remember, our clients have come to us to help them find love. Your job is to create those images to help them get there.
