I've been creating memorable portraits since I was in the 5th grade! I took my little Kodak film camera with the square bulb on top to class and gather my friends at recess and get their pictures, that was a very long time ago. My love for photography has stuck with me my whole life....and I'm no spring chicken anymore 🙂 Over the years I developed my skills as a photographer by working along side other established individuals and in high paced environments with many celebrities. This involved shoots of Events, Corporate, Fashion, Music and Film. I love what I do and I let my work speak for itself. I still shoot for film companies and do corporate conferences, meetings and gala events, fashion & beauty, maternity, engagements and elopements too but my real passion is creating fabulous portraits and head-shots. I could do them all day long and never stop! It brings me such joy to create a masterpiece that will bring back fond memories even 10 years from now. There is nothing like the one on one connection on a portrait session, learning and getting to know each other a little while creating magic! I enjoy the creative freedom of working in different environments and locations, making each session a memorable adventure. I'm up for anything...are you? My approach is to make it look like you have a friend with a nice camera who happened to take some great shots of you while you were at one of your favorite hangouts or doing a favorite activity. We will be like long lost friends before the hour is up! I'm really down to earth and I genuinely like people and enjoy hearing their stories. I think getting to know some little details before a shoot always helps relax people the day of. We'll be a bit on the move, utilizing the dynamic backdrops of the neighborhood. This not only adds variety to your photos but also keeps the session lively and fun! Getting genuine smiles can be tough sometimes but I have a few tricks to coax those smiles out and create a relaxed and friendly environment while creating the images you dream of! I'm always happy to show my clients the back of my camera so they too can see how amazing they look! Arizona has so many spectacular locations that it might be hard to pick one! Together we can decide what is right for you...because YOU are the star of this photo shoot!! I live at the backdoor to the Superstition mountains and Peralta Trail so I of course love to shoot here. We have a comfortable clubhouse that provides some great back-rounds from a pool to a pool table, a few nice outdoor & indoor sitting areas, iron gates etc. This is an upscale community of adults. Goldfield Ghost Town isn't far off and that provides a nice variety of rustic charm with lots of wooden structures. It's situated just down the road from another old west location that offers the white Elvis church. Tempe Town Lakes is diverse and inviting and has great energy. Papago Park is great location too for an outdoor oasis. Downtown Gilbert offers an exciting backdrop too that is both upscale and charming. Mesa Arts Center is alive with diverse backrounds, textures and colors. Eastmark in Gilbert has some wonderful nature area's and is situated next to a lovely organic vegetable farm. Gilbert's Riparian Preserve is also a great place in nature and sits behind a brick public library with a pond that we can also utilize both indoors and out. Freestone Park in Gilbert can be a simple pleasure and is equipped with a pond & benches and a cute little merry go round that can add a pop of color. My favorite is Dana Park Shopping Center in Mesa just off highway 60 at Val Vista Dr...it offers a luxury backdrop for those with exquisite taste, it's my personal favorite! There's several outdoor seating areas here that are welcoming as well as fountains, stairs and plenty of benches, pillars and walls. It's really one stop shopping! Locations with various shaded areas with soft natural light and fun architecture work well to create a shallow depth of field so the focus remains on you. I'm always open to your suggestions too! Let's get creative and pick something that is authentically YOU! Timing is everything when it comes to light. Despite my operating hours that are listed, if we're out in the complete open (no buildings) I prefer to meet 1.5 to 2 hours before sunset so we have the best light to work with. On an overcast day (not too many in Phoenix haha) we're not so limited by the time of day! Overcast is great! If we're inside a library or someplace with large windows, we don't have to be so concerned on the 2 hour before sunset thing, more light is better and mid day usually works just fine! Let's chat and find your happy place! * I will always drive to the chosen location a few days prior to your shoot day to check light so we can nail the location perfectly. * I do have a portable changing tent when there isn't a suitable place to change outfits. It pops up in 5 seconds and takes down in 30 seconds 🙂
